Pride of Essex Award, Outstanding Community Contribution

Tyler Pavitt has been nominated for a pride of Essex award, He has been nominated for his volunteering at 2nd Witham. He volunteers every week and helps new members settle in. He organises craft projects for the younger members and helps with fundraising and activity days. Group organisers say Tyler is their most cheerful asset and will make a great leader of the future. We are pleased to announce that we were successful in our application this time round. The money is going to be used for new Sports equipment.

We are looking for a few items ...does anyone have any old towels for use with the powerboat please? also some old cutlery and shovels for use at the land and lastly some scissors for use in craft. If you have anything that we can use we would be very grateful. Thanks

Volunteer Opportunities for 2nd. Witham BB

Can you help with any of the following please :

Help at Anchor Boys on a Tuesday 6- 7 pm.  - Similar help with Juniors on a Wednesday from 6.15 - 7.45 pm.
Again help with Fridays anytime between 7 - 10 pm. and help with transporting boys around the town during badgework sessions and Sport too !

Also—- Cooking
Craft
Powerboating - training provided
Canoeing -  training provided
Work at the BB office on admin
Activity days and projects at the land at Twinstead - board walk building
Re - generate the BMX track - work on bikes too
Help the Team planning the 40th. Birthday celebrations in September 2012

40th Birthday Celebrations

Our 40th birthday celebrations are due to take place the weekend of the 22nd September 2012. Please keep this date free and watch out for further details !!!!

Mad Science and The President’s Badge Awards

Next Wednesday 23rd. March at 6.15 pm. at Guithavon Church Halls, we are holding a Mad Science evening on junior engineering and slime making !!!! This will be primarily for Anchor Boys and Juniors, but anyone is welcome to join us, for this fun time and refreshments. All families welcome too !!1

During the early part of the evening, we will be pleased to have guests from Essex Community Foundation and Greenfields Housing Association, plus Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services too. Nine President’s Badges - the all round high achievement award will be presented to our young people, who are now working towards their Queen’s Badge.

Do please come along and support our evening - it will be great fun.
The War Hammer Club will have a display and there might too be an opportunity to try out both keyboards and guitars too, in case you want to learn !!!!!
